Well, as most of you know we are adopting! This is a new, scary, exciting, faith-testing time for our entire family. We have been asked why? My answer: because God told us to. He calls his people to care for the widows and orphans. Who am I to say no to something so specifically stated! or how can you afford to adopt? My answer: We can't. But God can. If we trust in Him and let Him lead He will make a way. His ways are not our ways.
Danny got a word at church yesterday...this is part of it:
"We cannot out think God! If we are obedient, no matter what, the blessings will overflow!!!
Faith is believing God is who He says He is and He will do what He says He will do.
God works in the supernatural and there is no rationalization in the supernatural.
Rationalization contradicts/conflicts/interferes with faith.
Obedience is fulfilling God's instruction through faith!
Obedience vs. Disobedience is the difference between Faith or Rationalization of God's will and instructions."
God has been telling me:
"You don't have to keep reaching. Your house doesn't have to be perfectly clean, remodeled, etc. You don't always have to have everyone ready on time and be patient and calm with it all. Stop striving and know that I am God and when I ordain something, in your obedience, it will come to pass!"
We have known that wanted to adopt since Brynnlin was born. We were blessed with two beautiful children. We said that there are so many kids that need good homes and a loving family that we will be done "having" our own and let God lead us to our next child/children.
Now, after years of prayers and petition we finally felt led to start the process. Last week we officially started our adoption fundraiser. We are making and selling homemade breakfast burritos (we've made six dozen in two days), and I am making special occasion cakes. God has already been blessing us and opening many doors.
We are not sure what will be next. Right now it is the fundraising and donations. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. Until then, God Bless!
